Join us in ministry!
Rays of Hope for Uganda is a grassroots organization. We recognized a need and partnered together, Canadian and Ugandan, each bringing our own expertise and willingness, to bring resolution to some of the issues of poverty and despair in the Kaberamaido district of Uganda. We have chosen to run our Canadian side solely with volunteers whenever possible, which allows a greater impact of each dollar given to further our work in Uganda. Rays of Hope for Uganda is a non-profit Canadian registered charity. Our charitable registration number is 829579697RR0001.
We invite you to participate with us in the transformative work that Rays of Hope is accomplishing, in the lives of our staff, students, and all that surround our project in Eastern Uganda. Your prayers and financial support are imperative to the success and life of this ministry. Would you prayerfully consider partnering with us to assist in furthering the work of this ministry?

James 1:27
Child Sponsorship
Child sponsorship is very important to us because it provides orphaned or needy children the requirements needed for school such as books, pens, pencils, uniforms and two meals a day. In Uganda, many children are unable to go to school because their families or relatives cannot afford to support them. The sponsorship program allows us to provide many more children this life-changing opportunity.
For $30 a month you can sponsor a child. It’s a beautiful way to invest into not only their life and their future, but into their family, their community and most importantly, the Kingdom of God.
Just imagine the news of sponsorship reaching a young person’s life. The power of hope and anticipation for what lies ahead! The need is great and your partnership makes all the difference.
All gifts are tax receiptable.
Gift a Goat
A tangible project for the community!
Gifting a Goat
Northern and Eastern Uganda, not too many years ago, were devastated by attacks from both warrior groups and violent rebel activity. During those arduous years many people lost their lives, loved ones and their livelihoods. These areas, which were once flourishing with cattle, goats and pigs is now sadly depleted of them. Today, a family that owns livestock in this part of Uganda is a rare sight to see. One of the ministries Rays of Hope is proud to offer is our ‘gift a goat project’. It gives the ability for an individual to purchase and gift a goat or a pair of goats to a Ugandan family. Once their goat reproduces, the family gives one of the young kids back to the project which in turn is passed along to another family.
If you are inspired to ‘gift a goat’ please use the link provided and we’ll surprise a family on your behalf! There are a few other options to choose from as well so if you feel so inclined, you could get creative!
Goat Costs:
One single goat - $50
Two goats (for mating purposes) - $100

“In 2016 I went to Uganda to do some volunteer work at the “Rays of Hope for Uganda” school located in Akokoma. On this trip I helped them construct a concrete pen enclosure in which to house some hogs that where ready to have their young. They were so eager to get this project completed. In 2018 I returned to teach the construction and maintenance staff metal fabrication and welding. We completed portable penning for use to graze their goats. On this last trip I noticed that they had added more brick / concrete pens to their hog area. This showed me that they have a true desire to learn and become productive in raising food and generating an income for their students and the school. The school provides a quality Christian based education in the English language to provide the students from nursery to Grade P7 with the skills to continue on to Secondary schooling. They also provide some of the students with a living accommodation and food, as some of the children are orphaned or are in need of such care. The school has their own Social Worker who monitors the needs of the children and families in the village. The school has given out food and care during the famine caused by drought these last two years. It was a privilege to attend the church service that the students had in one of their class rooms. The children were so sincere in their prayers and exuberant in their worship. They continued to dance and sing for over a half an hour after the service was over. It was and continues to be a life changing experience for me.” E. Skaar
